Indonesian for Beginners, A1 Course at Bahasa Bule
The Indonesian for Beginners course is for anyone with zero prior Indonesian. By the end of A1 you will introduce yourself, ask and answer simple questions, order food, get around, talk about your family and work, and handle most tourist and short-term expat situations.
What You Learn at A1 Beginner
- Greetings and introductions, numbers, time, dates, and days
- Family, jobs, and hobbies
- Food and drink, ordering at warungs, restaurants, and cafes
- Directions, transport, shopping, and prices
- Past, present, and future using markers (sudah, sedang, akan)
- 500 to 700 words of practical vocabulary, built through conversation

How the Class Is Structured
Each session runs about an hour. Half is spoken practice, half is structured input on grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. Homework is light, around 15 to 20 minutes a day using our premium mobile app. You can take A1 in three formats: private (home visits in Canggu, Pererenan, Ubud, Uluwatu, Sanur), small group with new batches monthly, or online via Zoom.
