How we teach English to kids
Children do not learn a language the way adults do. They learn by hearing sounds, playing with words, telling stories and using English for something real. Our kids programme follows the same path native-speaking children take at school: phonics first, then language arts (reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, speaking and listening), then real-world English such as presentations, projects and exam preparation. Every lesson mixes games, songs, movement and hands-on tasks so kids stay engaged and actually look forward to class.
What your child learns
Phonics
The foundation of reading. Kids learn the 44 English sounds, how letters and letter groups make those sounds, and how to blend them into words. We use synthetic phonics (the method used in UK primary schools) with flashcards, sound games and decodable readers.
- Letter sounds a–z and letter names
- Blending (c-a-t → cat) and segmenting for spelling
- Digraphs and trigraphs: sh, ch, th, ee, oa, igh…
- Tricky / sight words: the, said, because…
- Reading first books with confidence
Reading & Comprehension
From decodable readers to chapter books. Children read aloud, retell stories, answer questions and learn to find the main idea, details and the author’s message.
- Guided reading in small groups
- Fiction and non-fiction texts
- Vocabulary in context
- Reading fluency and expression
Writing
Step by step from letters and words to sentences, paragraphs and full texts: stories, letters, descriptions, reports and opinion pieces.
- Handwriting and spelling
- Sentence building and punctuation
- Paragraphs, story structure and planning
- Creative writing and journaling
Grammar & Vocabulary
Grammar taught through use, not just rules. Children learn tenses, question forms, plurals, adjectives and connectors while talking about topics they love.
- Parts of speech and word order
- Tenses: present, past, future
- Topic vocabulary: family, animals, school, food, sport, travel
- Word families, prefixes and suffixes
Speaking & Listening
Every class is packed with speaking practice: role-plays, show-and-tell, storytelling, songs and games so kids speak naturally and pronounce clearly.
- Everyday conversation and questions
- Pronunciation and intonation
- Listening to stories, songs and instructions
- Show-and-tell and mini presentations
Projects, Drama & Exam Prep
Older kids and teens use their English for real tasks: presentations, debates, science and reading projects, drama and school-exam support.
- Public speaking and presentations
- Drama, poems and storytelling shows
- Homework and school curriculum support
- Preparation for Cambridge Young Learners and school English tests on request

Frequently asked questions
At what age can my child start?
From 4 years old. Younger children start with sounds, songs and play; reading and writing come when they are ready.
My child speaks no English at all. Is that OK?
Yes. We start from zero with phonics and simple conversation, and our teachers can support in Indonesian.
Do you follow a school curriculum?
Our programme is built on the UK phonics and language-arts progression and works alongside international, national and homeschool curricula. We can also support your child’s school homework and tests.
How often should my child come?
Most children come 2 times a week. Intensive holiday programmes are also available.
Do you also teach Indonesian to kids?
Yes. Ask about our Bahasa Indonesia classes for children and our after-school programme.
