Indonesian for Kids, Fun Classes That Actually Work
Children pick up languages differently than adults. They do not need grammar tables, they need stories, songs, games, and patient repetition. Our Indonesian for Kids program is built around how children naturally learn, for ages 4 to 18, in Bali and online.
Programs by Age Group
- Ages 4 to 7: songs, picture books, and games in 30-minute sessions, parents welcome. Focus on listening and core vocabulary, no reading or writing yet
- Ages 8 to 12: story-based learning, role plays, and simple writing in 45-minute sessions. Kids read simple Indonesian and hold short conversations within the year
- Ages 13 to 18: conversation-led 60-minute sessions with grammar explained as it comes up, suitable for school credit or integrating into local life
The After School Program
Our after school program in Bali runs from the Canggu school and online: twice a week, two-hour sessions with a snack break, pairing language with cultural activities like cooking Indonesian snacks, Balinese dance basics, and folk tales. It covers both Indonesian and English for kids aged 4 to 18.

What age can my child start?
From age 4. Younger than that, we recommend parent-led exposure rather than formal classes.
Are classes one-on-one or group?

Will my child learn to read and write Indonesian?
Yes, from age 8 onward. Younger students focus on listening and speaking first, which mirrors how they learned their first language.
